About Rye FSC

The Rye Figure Skating Club was founded 84 years ago in the spring of 1937 by Edward F. Page and incorporated by the state of New York on March 1, 1938 as a non-profit organization.

The Ice Casino at Playland - built in 1929 - is the home rink for the Club. Many national competitors grew up skating at Playland, including Olympic Gold Medalist Dorothy Hamill, a past and Honorary Member of the Rye FSC. In 2014, the official name of the rink was changed to Playland Ice Casino.

Over the years, Rye FSC members have participated in all aspects and levels of skating, ranging from beginner to national competitor. The Club supports the many varied facets of figure skating, including dance, freestyle, pairs, moves in the field and synchronized skating.
